Oyster Toadfish

The Oyster Toadfish is a bottom dweller, inhabiting shallow waters such as the lagoon at Edisto. The fog-horn call is produced by the male when courting females at the nest site. Both sexes make grunting and growling sounds when annoyed or frightened.
