I've listened to the sound of the Green Frogs down by the creek at my home in South Carolina for decades and always loved to hear their throaty calls on summer nights. When we moved to Western North Carolina, they invaded our little pond filled with Wood Frogs and took over for a summer in 2008. However, they disappeared over the winter and the Wood Frogs are back in control of their little world.
The alternate name for the Green Frog is Bronze Frog. They are nocturnal and live near springs, creeks, swamps, edges of ponds and lakes and in underbrush. They breed from March to August and are found in eastern North America.
